My name is Agathe Håvardstun. My husband and I run a small cattery of British Shorthair cats in Bergen, Norway. To us, quality is much more important than quantity, so we plan to have few litters; just one or two each year. This way, we have more time to spend on each kitten so that they get all the love and affection that they deserve. Our goal is to breed beautiful and healthy British Shorthair kittens that have features according to the breed standard set by FIFe. It is also very important to us that all kittens from our cattery are well socialized and have lots of confidence before leaving our home.
Cats and kittens in our cattery are not kept in enclosures or cages, but live together with us day and night in our flat. This gives them the advantage of feeling calm and affectionate towards people they encounter, and combined with their friendly temper, we hope to breed ideal family cats. This will also prove an advantage if they are taken to cat shows, where they can encounter several foreign judges in one day.
Our cats are treated as the truly beloved family members they are to us. We love our cats very much.
All our cats that will go into breeding are tested for hereditary heart disease, HCM, and come from healthy bloodlines. The cats are also vaccinated according to the vet´s recommendations, and are taken regularly to health checks. Our cattery name NO* Purring Love´s is registered in the Norwegian pure-breed association, NRR, and FIFe. We plan to have our first litter of British Shorthair kittens in 2010.
